Royal Air Maroc Makes Emergency Landing At Lagos Airport

An outbound  Royal Air Maroc flight from Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos,  yesterday made an emergency landing 10 minutes after departure due to bird strike.
The Boeing aircraft  which departed the airport in the early hours of yesterday had about 126 passengers and crew on board.

Airport sources said the captain of the aircraft contacted the control tower in Lagos and requested for an emergency landing 10 minutes after takeoff, which was  granted by the Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) on duty.

As at the time of filing this report, the aircraft was still on ground at the Lagos Airport while the passengers had been lodged in a hotel pending when another aircraft would be deployed to airlift them to the Northern African country.
