Kano blast: SSS blames residents
State Security Service (SSS) has blamed Monday’s
suicide bomb attack at a luxury bus park in Kano on residents for
relaxing about their security with the improved security in the region.
Its Deputy Director of Publicity, Ms Marilyn Ogar,
stated this while responding to questions on whether or not there had
been a lull in the performance of security operatives in the Northern
part of the country with the return of daily attacks in Kano in the last
few days.
Ogar said there wasn’t a lull, but “maybe Nigerians
became too relaxed because there was a little bit of respite,” referring
to recent arrest and onslaught the security forces made on hideouts of
the sect members.
She claimed the operatives had been able to take out
the leadership of the fundamentalist sect and that “it is some loose
cannons of the sect who are trying to find their feet that are staging
these new attacks.”
