Fergie escapes UEFA ban And Nani's one-match suspension won't be increased

ALEX FERGUSON has been fined £8,500 by UEFA following his post-match no show — but managed to dodge a touchline ban.

The Manchester United boss was too “distraught” to talk to the media following the club’s controversial defeat to Real Madrid on March 5.

And the Scot has escaped with just a small fine for non-fulfilment of media obligation.
It was equally good news for Nani who was told his one match ban for a red card in the same match would not be increased.

A UEFA statement read: “Manchester United FC midfield player Nani has been suspended for one match by UEFA’s Control and Disciplinary Body, following the red card he received at the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg against Real Madrid CF at Old Trafford on 5 March.
“Manchester United head coach Sir Alex Ferguson has been fined £8,500 for non-fulfilment of the post-match media obligations at the same match.”
